DCV optimizes the outside air damper position based on Indoor Air Quality needs and CO2 levels in the return air system. Outside air is then admitted to improve the IAQ and save energy, thus reducing utility costs. DCV also improves fan efficiency via interval modulation for step speed drives and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
Outside Air Optimization™ can also be used to add DCV and IAQ features to makeup air units (MAUs), air handling units (AHUs) and dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS), although OAO does not control these systems directly.
Comparative Enthalpy HVAC control optimizes the outside air damper position based on outside air enthalpy compared with calculated indoor enthalpy. Cloud computing maximizes free cooling by predicting needs via live weather data and doppler radar instead of failure-prone hardware on the roof. 75F does not modulate to a fixed Mixed Air Temperature (MAT) such as 55º, but instead calculates the ideal MAT based on the real load of the indoor zones. This strategy significantly improves comfort by optimizing diffuser discharge air temperatures and reducing room temperature by zone.
