Saving our planet is going to be one hell of a fight. We're proud to announce The Clean Fight New York has selected 75F for its inaugural cohort of clean energy companies to target decarbonization in the Empire State.
Clean Energy Trust (a nonprofit cleantech accelerator) announced to a sold-out crowd at their Co_Invest Cleantech event in Chicago yesterday that 75F had taken home the largest investment for their building control solutions delivering operational efficiencies, improved productivity and optimal occupant experiences. 75F is one of four new portfolio companies (and the only MN-based company) selected from over 100 applicants; and, the crowd of attendees voted 75F as the People’s Choice.
Clean Energy Trust (CET) awarded 75F with at total of $270,000, representing the largest of four investments in new companies, totaling $700,000. The CO_INVEST Cleantech event brings entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and students together for a day celebrating a shared belief in the power of entrepreneurs to take on the hardest challenges to sustainable life on the planet. The 75F presentation went over so well, the crowd voted 75F the People's Choice winner, adding $20,000 investment to the already allocated $250,000. The people have spoken!
So why did 75F take home the top prize?
The City of Warren, MN, in the northwest corner of the state, is leading a B3 Benchmarking effort around public facility energy efficiency, and 75F is helping. Warren received one of 39 CERTS seed-grants in 2018 for their benchmarking of public buildings. With help from CERTS, Warren selected 75F building intelligence solutions to equip them with sensing and rich data available in 75F Facilisight software through Web or mobile app. They were also keen on the 75F system's quick install and commissioning, which was installed by the City electrician with on-site training from 75F.
September 20th was an exciting day, as our CEO and Founder, Deepinder Singh, took the stage at the VERGE 2017 to pitch 75F to nearly 2,000 attendees in Silicon Valley, plus a global live-streaming audience. Wednesday afternoon's VERGE Accelerate program consisted of seven entrepreneurs, each given just two and a half minutes to promote their company's story before an audience of technology and sustainability thought leaders. After a quick discussion including feedback from a panel of judges, the crowd-sourced voting took place. It was a white knuckle event as Lilac Solutions and 75F battled for the win.
